Zoning Board of Appeals
The City of Rockford Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is comprised of seven (7) Rockford citizens who are appointed by the Mayor and charged with enforcing the provisions of the Rockford Zoning Ordinance. The ZBA holds a public meeting once monthly to hear and make decisions on various petitions to the Board for Zoning Map Amendments, Pre-annexation Agreements, Special Use Permits and Variations to the Zoning Ordinance.
The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on the third Tuesday of every month with the exception of February and October. For February and October the meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month. All meetings are held at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers on the second floor of Rockford City Hall (425 East State Street, Rockford, IL 61104) and are open to the public.
ZBA Application Packet – The Zoning Application Form may be filled out online, printed, signed and returned to the City of Rockford Zoning Office with payment. The Zoning Office is located on the 1st floor of City Hall at 425 E. State Street, Rockford, IL 61104.
